We’re working on a new version of the VX-7 Scorpions (1.2), and we’ve added a new muzzle flash option. Wanted to give a quick preview so folks could have a chance to comment:
Personally, I like the “Anime” style a lot better; it’s more refined and makes better use of glow. However, we’re leaving the “Standard” muzzle flash as an option for those who prefer a more realistic feel or who don’t have glow enabled (both use glow, but “Anime” looks ghastly without it, whereas “Standard” looks okay).
What do you think? Which should be the default option?

I’d go for the “Anime” style too; it suits the style of the gun and looks much cleaner.
Thanks; glad to have some validation that I’m not nuts. I’ve never really liked the flat-flame-prim way of doing things, but I understand some folks like it because it’s less “cartoony.”
Still, I think that a well-done “cartoony” style (hence the name “Anime”) is better than a poorly-done “realistic” style. I’ve done some playing about with sculpty flames, but haven’t been able to get anything that I really liked.
Still, these will both be options in the .config notecard (”MUZZLE SFX: ANIME”)
I like the “Anime” style a lot. Much like Osiris was saying, they seem to match the look and the feel much better. (And aweseome guns they are!)
