The TE.LEPORT.ME system is a terrific way to store all of your favorite places in one easy-to-use place. Unlike common landmark managers in Second Life, the TE.LEPORT.ME hud can store an unlimited number of bookmarks, organized into “folders” and tags, so that you can easily browse your favorite locations in Second Life.

TE.LEPORT.ME is also social bookmarking application (http://te.leport.me) built just for Second Life locations. Think Del.icio.us, but for SLURLS, and with a flexible but low-lag in-world client. You can also post public bookmarks, which visitors to the site can see and explore for themselves. Surf the te.leport.me website to see places other residents have posted by tag or via search, and put your friends on a watchlist so you can see each other’s choices.

In addition to these great features, TE.LEPORT.ME also acts much like your favorite web browser. It offers Back/Forward teleport buttons and a record of your history for up to 30 days, no matter how many times you teleport. Navigate second life with the same ease you enjoy from Firefox, Safari, or Internet Explorer.

PERMANENT, UNLIMITED STORAGE

Since your locations are stored in a permanent database, you never have to worry about losing your HUD, resetting it, upgrading it, or anything like that; your bookmarks are just always there.  There’s no fussing about with landmarks, notecards, exports or imports; just bookmark a location and forget it until you want to visit it again.

Unlike most Second Life landmark managers, which store only a handful of locations, TE.LEPORT.ME can store an unlimited number of locations, without resorting to storing dozens of laggy scripts to hold the memory.  Our off-world servers do most of the work, so the HUD itself is tiny, low-lag, and really, really easy to use.

EASY ORGANIZATION OPTIONS

One of the biggest problems with Second Life landmark managers is organization.  Most don’t feature any organization techniques at all, which means you can only store so many landmarks before the list gets too large to find your way around in 12-button menus.

TE.LEPORT.ME, on the other hand, offers not just one but two options for organization:

  1. Tags - The Web 2.0 standard, tags are becoming the default way to organize information.  TE.LEPORT.ME allows you to easily tag your bookmarks with as many keywords as you want.  You can then use those tags later to browse exactly the right listing of bookmarks to find just what you’re looking for!
  2. Filters - Because even tags can be a bit much to surf from a HUD (and we want you to tag away freely), the TE.LEPORT.ME offers a “Filter” option.  Filters are basically groups of tags that make it easy to sort your bookmarks into more commonly used categories.  For instance, you could create a filter called “Accessories” that brought up all bookmarks tagged with shopping, accessories, and avatars.  This allows you to browse your bookmarks much as you would using folders in your browser’s bookmark file.

Organization options like this allow you to bookmark freely and know you’ll always be able to find what you’re looking for later.  Use as many tags as you like and up to 50 filters in your HUD.

SOCIAL BOOKMARKING

While your favorites are stored as private by default, you can also share your finds with other TE.LEPORT.ME users via the TE.LEPORT.ME website (http://te.leport.me).  Post your favorite shop as a public bookmark so other users can find it, or flip through other user’s public bookmarks to see what they’ve found.  You can even add your friends or people with similar interests to your Watchlist, which lets you see what they’ve marked so you can explore more of Second Life.

Since you can also edit/sort/retag your bookmarks from the TE.LEPORT.ME website (http://te.leport.me), you don’t have to resort to endless blue menus when it comes time to reorganize or clean house.  Log on from any web browser, or use the browser built right into the Second Life client!

WEB BROWSER INTERFACE

If you’ve ever used a web browser (and you obviously have), you already know just how to use the TE.LEPORT.ME HUD.  We’ve designed it that way on purpose, so that you can navigate Second Life with the ease you already enjoy from Firefox, Safari, or Internet Explorer.  The tiny, low-profile hud has back, forward, history, bookmark, and browse buttons just like you’ve come to expect from web browsing, so it takes only a moment to figure out just how to use your new HUD.

Your history stores all of your teleports for the last 30 days, so you can easily remember where you’ve been (sorted by date/time or alphabetical order!).  Back and forward buttons work just like you expect, allowing you to easily retrace your steps in a single session.

EASILY IMPORT YOUR FAVORITES

Got a folder full of landmarks?  Import them!  Simply drag a landmark onto your TE.LEPORT.ME HUD, and it will convert the landmark into a SLURL and post it to your TE.LEPORT.ME private bookmark list.

Have a bunch of SLURLs in your browser bookmarks or on your Del.icio.us account?  Import them too!  There’s easy instructions on the website for importing your browser bookmarks - let TE.LEPORT.ME grab all the SLURLs from your import file.

SOMETHING EVERYBODY NEEDS

Every once in a while, a product comes out in Second Life that literally everybody has a use for.  TE.LEPORT.ME is one of those items.

No matter what you’re into, what kinds of places you visit, or what kinds of communities you’re a part of, TE.LEPORT.ME can help you keep track of the best places in Second Life, find new ones based on others’ recommendations, and teleport with ease without clumsy inventory searches.

If you’ve avoided getting a landmark organizer because of limited storage, concerns about losing your bookmarks, or lack of organization options, you’ve found your new HUD.  And if you’ve never considered a landmark manager before, now’s the time.  It’s stable, it’s inexpensive, and it can greatly improve your Second Life experience.
